Housing Scholar and Urban Planner

  I am a critical housing scholar and transformative urban planner based in Chicago.  I am a Ph.D. candidate in Urban Planning and Policy at the University of Illinois Chicago. My research is focused on affordable housing, community development, and community-led solutions to the housing crisis. 

I have a Master of Public Administration from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Northeastern Illinois University along with a certificate in the Foundations of College Instruction from the Graduate College at the University of Illinois Chicago.

I acknowledge my work in Chicago, Illinois inhabits spaces built on the occupied original homelands of the Council of Three Fires: The Ojibwe, Potawatomi, Odawa Nations; and other Nations such as the Menominee, Ho-Chunk, Miami, and many other Indigenous Peoples. These lands were the traditional birthright of indigenous peoples who were forcibly removed and who have faced two centuries of struggle for survival and identity in the wake of dispossession. I recognize our responsibilities to the people of this land and that my work strives to address that history.
